Tamil Nadu Governor Banwarilal Purohit and Chief Minister K Palaniswami Tuesday extended greetings to the Muslim community on the eve of Meelad-Un-Nabi, the birth anniversary of Prophet Mohammed (PBUH).
In a statement, the governor said the prophet stood for human values such as discipline, kindness, compassion and charity.
"I extend my heartiest greetings and best wishes to all our Muslim brothers and sisters," he said.
The Chief Minister in his greetings recalled the services provided by the AIADMK government for the benefit of the Muslim community.
"The government led by late J Jayalalithaa has taken various steps including providing Haj subsidy", he noted.
