Students of a private medical college in Tamil Nadu, whose approval was withdrawn by the Medical Council of India (MCI), staged a demonstration here today to urge the Health Ministry to take urgent steps to accommodate them in other medical institutions.
About 35 students participated in the demonstration in the national capital, a student said.
According to the students of the 2011-12 batch of DD Medical College near Chennai, they had appeared for the first year examinations of MBBS and the results were published subsequently.

But in January 2013, the MCI cancelled the approval for the college affecting hundreds of them, they said.
Claiming that the students of previous batches who were also affected by MCI's decision were accommodated in other medical institutions, they sought from the Centre to find a similar solution for them.
The future of 103 students is hanging in balance, the students said, adding, they had earlier made a representation in this regard to Health Minister J P Nadda a few months ago.
