Press Trust of India Chennai
Tamil Nadu Minister for Animal Husbandry P Balakrishna Reddy was today heckled here by a section of parents on the issue of NEET when he was at a varsity's counselling session for UG gegree programmes.

Some men said to be parents of students surrounded Reddy and angrily posed questions on why the National Entrance Cum Eligibility Test (NEET) was "allowed," in the state which had "adversely affected" their wards.

The Minister was at the Tamil Nadu Veterinary And Animal Sciences University here.

Since they could not try for medical admissions in view of the common test, they had to go for other courses, they told the Minister.

Police officials made way for the Minister and facilitated him to move out of the place.

Issuing admission letters to students following the counselling, the Minsiter hailed the varsity as first of its kind in South Asia.

He wished the students a bright future and good career serving the livestock farming community.
