The Tamil Nadu government today presented a supplementary estimate of over Rs 10,000 crore for 2015-16.
Presenting the final supplementary estimates in the Assembly, Finance Minister O Panneerselvam said it was aimed at getting the legislature's approval for expenditure on 'New Instrument of Service' items, which were sanctioned since the presentation of the first estimates in September last.
He said among others, the government has sanctioned Rs 3,039.24 crore to undertake 'immediate' relief and restoration work in the flood affected areas during the torrential rains in November-December last.

The amount had been included under the head 'Relief on Account of natural calamities,' he added.
The final supplementary estimate was to the tune of Rs 10,605.30 crore.
