Chief Minister Jayalalithaa has approved the amount which will be utilised towards such initiatives at temples, dargahs and churches in districts such as Ariyalur, Tirunelveli, Ramanathapuram, Tiruchirappalli and Namakakkal, a government release said here today.
The allocation would also be used to beautify bird sanctuaries, setting up of boat houses, among others, across the state.
Also, the Highways Department will take up laying of approach roads to places of worship and tourist attractions covered under the latest proposal, the release added.
