Tamilnadu Congress Committee President E V K S Elangovan today said that a delegation of party functionaries would soon meet the Karnataka Chief Minister, Siddaramaiah and request him to desist from implementing Mekedattu project by constructing dams across river Cauvery.
If their request went unheeded, TNCC would organise a huge agitation against the proposed project, he said talking to reporters.
Elangovan urged the Tamil Nadu Agriculture minister either to request the Centre to release Urea to meet the shortage of fertilizer in the state or take steps to import it.
On the death of infants in Dharmapuri and Salem hospitals, he requested the state government to set up an enquiry commission to go into the deaths.
