: Tamil Nadu Newsprint and Papers Ltd, has recorded a 39.1 per cent rise in its net profit at Rs 61.06 crore for the quarter ending December 31, 2016.
In the corresponding period last year, the city-based company had registered a net profit of Rs 43.87 crore, TNPL said in a BSE filing.
For the nine month period ending December 31, 2016, the net profit went up by 29.3 per cent to Rs 201.16 crore from Rs 155.46 crore registered during the year-ago period.

Total income from operations for the October-December 31, 2016 quarter rose to Rs 752.31 crore from Rs 509.92 crore registered in the corresponding quarter last year.
For the nine month period ending December 31, 2016 total income from operations stood at Rs 2,247.93 crore as against Rs 1,768.27 crore registered during year ago period.
