Toddler dies after wrong diagnosis in Haryana

A toddler today died allegedly after being wrongly diagnosed by a doctor, who gave her medicines for fever and gas in Faridabad, police said.

The one-and-a-half years old Megdha passed away after she was allegedly given medicines by doctor Birender Singh of Maurya Clinic, they said.

She was given medicines for fever and gas by the doctor. Upon showing no signs of recovery, her mother took her to the doctor a second time.

The child slept after taking medicines and in the evening when she didn't wake up, she was taken to Carewell Hospital where doctors declared her dead, police said.
 

An FIR has been registered against the accused doctor and investigation is on in the matter.
