Press Trust of India Chennai
DMK chief M Karunanidhi today said the alleged hate speech made by VHP chief Pravin Togadia amounted to intimidating minorities and "they are doing everything" that may spark a communal enmity.

"Because of the comments made by some persons, there is a situation of intimidating minorties. (They) are doing whatever it requires for a communal clash. In this situation, I feel that a secular government should be formed at Centre," he said in response to reporters' queries on Togadia's comments.

Asked if there would be a 'grave danger' if BJP comes to power, Karunanidhi replied in the affirmative.

He said there was no 'Modi wave' in Tamil Nadu.

Togadia, on Saturday, had created a storm when he asked his supporters to forcibly vacate a house purchased by a Muslim in a Hindu-majority area of Bhavnagar.

Meanwhile, an FIR has been filed against Togadia today under sections 153(A), 153(B) and under 188 for violating notification of the Election Commission in Bhavnagar in Gujarat.
