Togadia expresses grief over death of Kanchi seer Jayendra Saraswathi

Vishva Hindu Parishad's (VHP) International Working President Praveen Togadia expressed grief over the death of Kanchi Shankaracharya Jayendra Saraswathi.

He always supported VHP," Togadia said, adding under his guidance, many projects were taken up for the education and medical treatment of the economically backward sections of the society.

He said teaching Sanskrit shlokas was the seer's passion.

Our thoughts would always be with Maharaj ji's Uttaradhikari (heir) revered Vijayendra Saraswati and his disciples," Togadia said.

Kanchi Shankaracharya Jayendra Saraswathi, hailed as a social reformer and known for his efforts for resolution of the vexed Ramjanmabhoomi-Babri Masjid dispute, died at a hospital in Kancheepuram today at the age of 82.
