All the eight coaches of the ladies special, running between New Delhi and Palwal, have been provided with the facility.
The three MEMU (Mainline Electric Multiple Units) trains, rolled out by railway coach factory in Kapurthala, have also been provided with GPS system to inform passengers about the arrival of the next station and speakers for infotainment purpose. Wash basin has also been introduced in these trains.
The trains have been pressed in service between New Delhi- Palwal and New Delhi-Panipat-Ambala sections, a Northern Railway spokesperson said.
The introduction of the toilet facility was one of the long standing demands of passengers. To meet their requirements, Railways have decided to provide the facility in the new MEMU trains which will be rolled out henceforth.
The spokesperson said the trains have also been provided with cushioned seats and stainless steel grab handles and steel rakes for keeping luggage.
Besides, polycarbonate lookout glass has been provided for ensuring clear visibility to the train driver.
