The Sydney-born forward said he had no choice but to cough up his one month salary at East Bengal, as a fine slapped by the state association after being found guilty of professional misconduct.
"It's (the fine) not fair at all. I had to accept it or else this would have dragged longer. I had no option but to accept it if I was to play," he told reporters at Mohun Bagan tent this evening.
Tolgay said he felt "blackmailed".
"It was tough time, but it did no damage to me. But I did not think that it would end my career in India," a relieved-looking Ozbey added.
In the 26-year-old's first outing in green-and-maroon colours, Ozbey will turn up tomorrow when the outfit takes on George Telegraph in the Airlines Gold Cup semifinal at Yuba Bharati Krirangan.
