Toll in building collapse mounts to eight

The three-year-old girl, who was badly scalded in the LPG cylinder blast that brought down a two-storeyed building here, today succumbed to injuries, taking the toll in the mishap to eight, the police said.

Sanjana was pulled out by rescue personnel from the debris of the building that collapsed at Ejipura on October 16.

She succumbed to injuries at the Victoria Hospital where she was admitted, the police said. Her parents were among those who died.

The state government had announced a compensation of Rs 5 lakh to the next of kin of the deceased.
