Press Trust of India Mumbai
MEP Infrastructure Pvt Ltd, which collects toll at all the five entry points of Mumbai, today described as "baseless" the reports that it was closing down the toll plaza at suburban Dahisar on the Western Express Highway.

"These messages are being circulated by certain vested interests and the Dahisar toll plaza is not being closed down," the company said in a release here.

The reports had asked the people to stop paying toll as the plaza had been closed, the company release said.

However, the company clarified that there was no such move to close down and that it was collecting the toll at all the entry points on the directives of Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation for 16 years from November 2010.

The 16-year period has been decided by the High Court and neither the MSRDC nor the state government had issued any closure order of Dahisar toll plaza, the release said.
