Morena BJP MLA Rustam Singh's supporters were allegedly manhandled by Chonda toll tax staff in the district last night, police said today.
The incident took place when the former minister along with his supporters were returning from Bamool Basai village after taking part in a cremation of few Kanvad yatris and the toll tax staff allegedly demanded higher toll from his supporters, Civil Line police station in-charge Amit Singh Bhadoria said.
Singh along with his son was travelling in a separate vehicle which the toll tax staff had allowed to go without charging any fee but stopped supporters vehicle.

Instead of Rs 30, the toll tax staff demanded Rs 50 from them, one of the supporters of MLA Ram Khiladi alleged which led to the scuffle between them.
The former Minister then returned to the barrier and intervened in the matter.
Meanwhile, a security guard posted at the barrier pulled out his gun following which Singh's supporters snatched it from him to prevent any untoward incident which resulted in a minor scuffle between them, police said.
Later, Ram Khiladi filed a complaint with the Civil Lines police station following which an FIR was registered against five unidentified toll tax staff.
Bhadoria said that the matter is under investigation and soon action would be taken against those responsible for the incident.
The toll tax staff has not filed any complaint so far in this regard, he added.
