A case of cheating has been booked against Tollywood director Puri Jagannadh and a developer in connection with a land dispute, police said today.
"Following a complaint by four flat owners, who had received notices from a public sector bank, the case was registered by Central Crime Station (CCS) -- a wing of Hyderabad City Police -- against the director and one Subbaraju, of a construction firm which had built the flats," said G Pala Raju, DCP (Detective department).
Jagannadh had taken a loan from a PSU bank after pledging documents of a land owned by him at Jubille Hills here and later paid half of the loan amount.

The DCP said though the flats were sold after construction, it seems the amount was not paid to the bank after which it sent notices to flat owners, the director and Subbaraju.
"Four flat owners approached the CCS after which a case of cheating has been registered," the DCP added.
