Inviting businessmen to invest in the entertainment industry, she said, "I told this to US secretary of state Hillary Clinton also when I met her. She laughed at it."
Inviting suggestions from the industry, she said at the closing ceremony of the state-organised Kolkata International Film Festival (KIFF) here, "If you have a vision, we have a mission."
Stating that the industry covered the cultural and entertainment sectors, she said that it provided employment to a large number of people.
"Tollywood (Bengali film industry) nurtures talent for Bollywood ..... Bollywood should begin with Bengal," she said.
Declaring her support to develop the entertainment industry in the state, she said three film cities - one in Siliguri in Darjeeling district and two others at Konnagar and at a place near Chinsurah in Hooghly district's would be built.
"The Technicians Studio is being revamped. We will build more studios. The industry should also invest here," the CM said.

"We share borders with Bangladesh, Nepal and Bhutan. That is also an advantage," she said.
During the closing function of KIFF, proceeds of more than Rs 11 lakh collected from the sale of contributory passes from last year's festival were given to film workers welfare fund and the chief minister's relief fund.
