Tollywood star Dev urges youths to come forward in politics

Launching his election campaign, reigning Tollywood star Dev today said he entered politics because there was need for youths to come forward.

"When my name was announced I was scared and switched off my phone. Then the next morning I thought, why not," the actor, a Trinamool Congress candidate, told a rally here in West Midnapore district.

"The young generation is very important. We need to come forward. I came here because I want youth power to come forward and vote. This is our country and we need to run it," Dev said.

The 31-year-old, best known for his potboilers like 'Paglu', 'Challenge' and 'Chander Pahar', would be contesting from Ghatal, his home-town.
 

"I have been here since my childhood. I am the son of the soil here," he said.
