Union Minister Narendra Singh Tomar today defended the BJP government in Madhya Pradesh, saying that Congress's allegations with regard to the MP Professional Examination Board scam, also known as Vyapam scam, were false.

"Congress's allegation are based on falsehood. These allegations can't be taken seriously," Tomar said here, when asked about AICC general secretary Digvijay Singh's demand of CBI probe and state Congress leader K K Mishra's repeated allegations that police's special task force was not conducting a fair probe.

"The state government is dealing with the scam seriously. The issue is with the court. The probe is being monitored by High Court. So there is no need to do politicking over the issue," he added.

Yesterday, two of the accused in various Vyapam cases died, taking the official death toll of the accused and witnesses in the scandal to 25.
