"Its been three years now that I have been acting on TV and I wanted a chance to show more skills. Dance has always been a passion. I also wanted to prove myself a complete package and reach out to my fans. I wanted to show that I am not only an actor. There couldn't have been a better platform than 'Jhalak'," Rithvik told PTI.

Now that he has reached the finals of the fifth season of the show, alongwith co-contestants Gurmeet Chaudhary and Rashmi Desai, Rithvik says he has achieved what he had set out to when he entered the show as a wild card.

"I had never thought I'd reach the finals. Whether I win or lose, its equally important to me because I have reached out to the audience I wanted. Right from a pedestrian on the street to a man in a car now knows me." he said.

The 24-year-old actor was first seen on 'Pyaar Kii Ye Ek Kahaani' (2010) and he currently essays the role of Arjun on 'Pavitra Rishta'.

Rithvik said he had a hard time juggling between his daily soap shooting and the weekly performances on 'Jhalak', which is the Indian version of US show 'Dancing With The Stars'.

"The shooting for 'Pavitra Rishta' used to go on till late evening and I used to rehearse for my performance in the night. I tried to catch up on sleep in between scenes. The serial's crew and (producer) Ekta Kapoor were very understanding, they cooperated with me so I could participate in Jhalak," he said.

Even though he is open to more such shows, Rithvik said that acting his going to be his priority.

"I haven't planned my future, but acting remains my first love. I'm a better actor than a dancer," he said.
