Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar today said a tool room would be set up to further promote industries in Faridabad.
He stated this while addressing a function at Suraj Kund in.
He said Faridabad is included in the list of 100 Smart Cities of the country and hoped it would also be included in the 20 Smart Cities coming up next year.
Khattar said the present pace of development and the number of ambitious projects coming up in Faridabad would help Faridabad get the status of a Smart City.
Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment, Krishan Pal Gurjar, who was also present at the function, said with the construction of Manjhawali Yamuna Bridge, the connectivity between Noida and Faridabad will be improved.
Meanwhile, speaking at the foundation-stone laying ceremony of Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Centre in Faridabad, Khattar said the process to open government medical colleges in Panchkula, Bhiwani and Jind was underway.
Amrita Institute, to be built over 100 acres, would include a 2,000-bed hospital which would have the highest capacity in northern India.
The Chief Minister said budget provision of Rs 3,916.94 crore had been made for health and family welfare in 2016-17 for expansion of health services in the state.
He said this was 37.1 per cent more than the budget expenditure of 2015-16.
Khattar said that the State Government had also framed a scheme to establish a National Cardiovascular Institute at Badshah in Jhajjar district.
A national cancer institute is also being set up in Badshah. This 710-bed institute would be ready within three years, he added.
He said that the sex ratio in Haryana has crossed the 900-mark after the implementation of the ambitious 'Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao' programme launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in January 2015.
Khattar said the state government has also decided to
implement a new scheme under which women police volunteers would be appointed in every village and wards of the city to maintain close coordination between the police and the people.
The parameters for the selection of women police volunteers are being finalised, he added.
He also emphasized the need to introduce pre-training on the pattern of National Defence Academy (NDA) for recruitment of police personnel so that the youth could directly join the police force.
Like NCC, the subject of police certificate course should also be introduced in the curriculum at school level so that youth could get job on the basis of the certificate.
Khattar also directed the police to install CCTV cameras at public places like bus stands, railway stations, schools and colleges so as to keep a check on anti-social elements.
He also asked them to organize camps in schools and colleges and impart training in self defence to students, especially to girls.
He also asked them to include the newly-elected women panchayat representatives in the counselling process at village-level as their involvement could result in significantly reducing the crime against women.
He also urged them to ensure the effective implementation of various flagship programmes including Beti Bachao Beti Padhao and Swachta Abhiyaan.
