Hungarian world record holder Sidi Peters will be the special guest at the third Sanjay Kakade Group Gun for Glory Shooting Championship to be held from September 25 to October 2 at the shooting range of the Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex, Mhalunge-Balewadi, here.

The championship, which is hosted by Gagan Narang Sports Promotion Foundation on behalf of National Rifle Association of India (NRAI), has attracted more than 1500 shooters from across the country.

The Championship would be conducted in more than 60 categories in 10 metre air rifle, 10 metre air pistol and shotgun segments, Olympic bronze medallist Narang said at a media conference.

In the earlier editions, the medal winners from the ISSF category (men and women) in both air rifle and air pistol category got the medals made of original gold, silver and bronze.

However, this year instead of the medals, the shooters finishing at top three positions will be getting cash prizes of Rs 30,000, Rs 15,000 and Rs 10,000 respectively.

Alongside the shooting championship, Gagan Narang Sports Promotion Foundation will also be hosting the 'All India Inter School Shooting Championship', in which close to 650 school children are expected to participate.
