Top Israeli commander visits Northern Command hqs in J&K's

Israel's Chief of Ground Forces Command, Major General Yaakov (Kobi) Barak, today visited the Indian Army's Northern Command headquarters in Jammu and Kashmir's Udhampur district.

Barak, who held discussions with senior Indian Army officials, is the first top Army commander of Israel to visit the Northern Command headquarters, an officer said.

The Israeli commander was accompanied by his wife Orit Barak and officers of the Embassy of Israel.

The visiting dignitary called on Lieutenant General D Anbu and matters of mutual interest were discussed, a senior Army officer said today.

"The delegation expressed full satisfaction in further pursuing enhanced cooperation between the two countries", he said.
 

Orit Barak visited the Asha School at Udhampur along with the Army Wives Welfare Association's regional president, Gowri Anbu.
