Top Malaysian customs official shot dead

Unidentified gunmen today shot dead a top Malaysian Customs Department official while he was on his way to work.

Customs deputy director-general Shaharuddin Ibrahim was rushed to hospital by his driver after the attack in the administrative capital of Putrajaya.

Reports said two men on a motorcycle pulled up along side the car and the pillion driver shot the official in the neck.
