In other boys singles opening round matches, Arjun Honnappa of Karnataka toppled fifth seed Golmei Naithaolin of Chandigarh 2-6 7-5 6-4 while Iftikhar Shaikh edged out Vaibhav Kundu 1-6 6-4 6-4.
In the girls'singles, Maharashtra's Richa Chougule, Gauri Bhagia, Sudipta Kumar, Tejaswi Kate and Swarda Parab moved into the second round by scoring one-sided victories.
Lucky loser Kalava Likhitha overcame Rashmikaa Bhamidipaty of Telangana 1-6 6-0 6-2, while Tatavarthy Shreya of Tamil Nadu got past Delhi girl Kiran Kalkal 6-2 3-6 6-2.
