Top-seed Parikshit Somani of West Bengal made short work of Tarun Karra (Telangana) 6-2, 6-3 to advance to the second round of the boys under-18 singles in the adidas-MCC National junior tennis tournament here today.
Local lad Dhakshineshwar Suresh, seeded fifth, powered into the second round with a crushing 6-1, 6-0 win over Dhruv Tangri (Punjab) as main draw
matches got underway.
Most of the seeded players had it easy except for No.3 Megh Bhargav Kuma Patel of Gujarat, who had to rally after losing the opening set, before getting the better of Krishna Teja Raja of Tamil Nadu 2-6, 6-0, 6-2.
