A police team with the help of local residents collected the torn pages and immersed them in a river near Gurdwara Katani Sahib, the DCP said.
Meanwhile, condemning the incident, Ludhiana MP Ravneet Singh Bittu alleged that the Akali government had "failed to stop incidents" of desecration of the holy book.
Demanding immediate arrest of the accused, he said, "Incidents of sacrilege are being carried out here and in other parts of the state at the behest of Akali leaders."
Last year, torn pages of the holy book were found lying on both sides of a road in the same locality.
