Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav today advised son and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav to tour others states and hold rallies there in order to become a "big leader".

"If you want to become big leader, you should tour other states also. Go and hold rallies in Bihar, Uttrakahand and Madhya Pradesh. Now a days there are a lot of facilities available, helicopter can be used for travelling.

"People consider SP as a regional party..." Mulayam said while pointing at Akhilesh.

Mulayam was addressing a gathering on the occasion of the death anniversary of party leader Janeshwar Mishra here.

Asking SP workers to make the party stronger at booth- level, Mulayam said, "raising slogans alone will not work. It can given you strength, but the party will become strong only when you work at booth level".

He said BJP had made government at the Centre that no one had expected. He also rued party's poor performance in Lok Sabha polls.

Besides Akhilesh, a number of senior leaders addressed the gathering.
