Tourism circuit plan drawn up surrounding Tarapith

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today announced that the state government has drawn up a plan to tourist circuit surrounding temple town Tarapith in Birbhum district.

The government has sanctioned Rs 9.80 crore for development Tarapith and a weekly helicopter service will be available from Kolkata to reach there every Saturday, Banerjee said at a review meeting here.

Besides, Rs 3.49 crore has been alloted for the Bakreswar hot spring, she said adding a 'Baul Mela' would be organised before the famous 'Jaydev Kenduli' Mela.

The Chief Minister formally announced construction of Gitanjali township at Bolpur on 100 acres of government land and said the government would soon start work in Panchami- Deucha coal block project.
 

Five more police out posts --Tarapith, Santiniketan, Paikar, Lohapur and Mallarpur-- would be made full fledged police stations, she said.

Stating that she is happy with the performance with the performance of the Birbhum district administration, she said "There is slight deficiency in some areas but overall performance is good.
