A tourism exhibition 'India Travel Mart' (ITM) was today inaugurated here with several private players and state governments participating in it.
ITM aims to showcase best of the tourism opportunities across the globe through the three-day event.
"The event is supported by Goa Tourism and Goa Tourism Development Corporation (GTDC) as the host state with Gujarat Tourism and Himachal Tourism as partner states," ITM Director Ajay Gupta said.
"ITM is known for its unique quality of exhibitions and travel events showcasing the best from the travel, tourism, hospitality and other related industries," he claimed.
According to Gupta, today's stressful lives call for a refreshing holiday and unique travel destinations and this exhibition aims at the same.
"The main focus of the exhibition is on making travel more interesting and hassle free for the traveller," Gupta said.
The director said the basic purpose of holding the event was to boost tourism awareness worldwide.
"We all know that Goa is one of the perfect and ideal holiday destinations in India and this event will help the tourists in Goa to look forward for different places and explore India more.
"The Indian Association of Tour Organisers (IATO), Association of Domestic Tour Operators of India (ADTOI), Travel Agent Association of India (TAAI-Gujarat Chapter) and Outbound Tour Operators Association of India (OTOAI) are actively supporting the event," he added.
