A case has been registered against five persons, including the Tirunelveli zone Bishop, for allegedly committing financial irregularities to the tune of Rs 91.90 lakh in a self-financing college managed by them, police said today.
They said the case was filed against former principal of the Nallur CSI Annabagyam College, Joel Jayamani, CSI Tirunelveli zone bishop J J Christhudoss, V.Kaanthiyah Nallapandi, R Jayakumar Jayaraj and Thomas K Omen on the orders of a judicial magistrate court.
The college administrator S P T Nelson had given a complaint to police that financial irregularities had been committed in the college managed by the Church of South India (CSI) and sought action against those responsible.

However, the police did not take any action following which he moved the court, Nelson submitted in court recently.
In his complaint, the administrator said the self-financing college was being run from the fees paid by the students.
He alleged that the financial irregularities were committed by diverting money to a different bank account and wanted a criminal case to be registered against those responsible.
