Town planner caught red handed for acceptting Rs 4 lakh bribe

Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) sleuths caught a town-planner of the Ahmednagar municipal Corporation (AMC) red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 4 lakh from a complainant, ACB sources said here today.

The complainant wanted permission for transfer of development rights of his 36 acres of land, purchased at kedgaon in Ahmednagar district, an ACB press release said.

AMC town planner Vishvanath Bhanoji Dahe had allegedly demanded a bribe of Rs 18 lakh from the complainant for the purpose, but matter was "settled" for Rs 4 lakh.

The complainant informed the ACB, which caught Dahe red handed while accepting a bribe, the release said.
