Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) today reported a 6 per cent rise in domestic vehicle sales at 12,200 units in May as against 11,511 units in the same month last year.

However, Exports during the month declined by 31.62 per cent to 990 units from 1,448 units in the year-ago month.

The company said its recently introduced Innova Crysta received a very good response from the market.

"We launched the Innova Crysta this month and have received an overwhelming response from our customers. The Innova Crysta has already received close to 20,000 booking orders within a month of its launch," N Raja, Director and Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing - Toyota Kirloskar Motor said.

"However, we keenly look forward to a favourable decision on the ban of registration of diesel vehicles above 2,000 cc in NCR which has been affecting the legitimate interests of TKM and its dealers in NCR," he added.

The company along with a couple of other industry players are the only ones affected, he said.

"This has been affecting our sales over the last six months and we are hopeful that the Hon'ble Supreme Court will consider our pleadings and lift the ban," Raja said.
