Consumers of the power discom Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited (TPDDL) saved 33.2 MW of electricity in last one year through various energy conservation schemes, a company spokesperson said.

These schemes also helped in reducing 22,338 MT of carbon footprint by saving 67.19 million units of electricity consumption besides contributing towards bringing down peak power demand, he said.

"The energy conservation schemes launched under the demand side management (DSM) initiatives of the company provide consumers rebates and special offers on using energy efficient appliances including LED lighting products," said the spokesperson.

The TPDDL supplies power to north and north-west parts of Delhi covering around 15 lakh consumers.

"Our demand side management schemes aim not only on reducing power consumption but also helping customers to bring down spending on their electricity bills," said Praveer Sinha, CEO and MD of the power utility.
