Power discom TPDDL has identified a solar potential of nearly 400 MW of rooftop solar capacity on private and government buildings within its licensed area in the next 5-6 years.
Tata Power Delhi Distribution Ltd (TPDDL) has conducted a study for an implementable plan for using Distributed Energy Resource technologies including solar technology and as per the study report a solar potential of nearly 400 MW of rooftop solar capacity had been identified in its licensed area in next 5-6 years, said a TPDDL official.
It has already set up 15 Grid Connected Solar Plants, with a total capacity of 1.65 MW, in its own premises including 12 stand alone solar lighting systems of 1 KW capacity each in RWA porta cabins, under New Delhi Municipal Corporation area, the official said.

Also, the company has commissioned eight Solar Plants under 'Demonstration Programme on Tail End Grid Connected Solar Power Plants', an initiative of Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, the official said.
