Demanding immediate release of seven life convicts in the Rajiv Gandhi Assassination case by the state government, the Thanthai Periyar Dravida Kazhakam (TPDK) would lay 'a siege' of the Vellore Central Prison, where they were serving their term, the outfit said today.

Santhan, Perarivalan, Murugan, Nalini, Ravichandran, Robert Pious and Jayakumar were incarcerated in the Central jail for the last 24 years and should be released immediately under Article 161 of the Constitution, TPDK General Secretary, K.Rarmakrishnan said here.

The agitation was to exert pressure on the state government to use its right to release them under Article 161 of Constitution, he said.
