Tractor-trolley hits Ranthambore train, engine damaged

The Ranthambore superfast train, Indore-Jodhpur via Jaipur, today got delayed after its engine was hit by a tractor-trolley at an unmanned railway crossing near Chaksu station here.

The engine's cattle guard was badly damaged but there was no report of any untoward incident or casualty, a spokesperson of North-Western Railway said.

Another engine was rushed from Sanganer railway station. The train was delayed and several passengers were seen waiting for its arrival at the Durgapura and Jaipur railway stations.

The tractor driver fled from the scene, he said, adding, the vehicle was badly mangled in the mishap.

The incident, which took place in the evening at 4.25 pm, is being probed by the railway authorities, the official said.
