Trade and convention centre to come up in Gwalior: govt

Madhya Pradesh Industries and Sports Minister Yashodhararaje Scindia today announced in the legislative assembly here that a trade and convention centre, on the lines of one in Noida, would be built in Gwalior.

Scindia made the announcement while replying to debate on the budgetary demands of her department.

Scindia also informed that for development of industry, 186 industrial centres will be set up on 6,100 hectares area, while 45 industrial development centres will be established over 8,500 hectares across the state.

A single-window system, where clearances from as many as seven departments can be obtained, would be set up for the investors, she added.
 

Referring to the concern expressed by some opposition members on the development of sports in the state, the minister said sports infrastructure development policy would be formulated for each district, under which stadiums, mini- stadiums, sports complexes and sports grounds can be developed.

Following the minister's reply, the Assembly passed the combined demands of Rs 1,233.66 crore of Industries and Sports Department by rejecting cut motions.
