Trader crushed by bus

A middle-aged trader was crushed to death when the scooty he was riding was hit by a bus in Indirapuram locality area here this morning.

Police said the incident took place at around 9 AM when Mohan Chand Upadhyay, a resident of Vasundhara sector 2A, was going to Khari Baoli in Delhi where he owned a dry-food shop.

"When he reached near Sahibabad vegetable market, a speeding private bus hit him from behind and crushed him to death", said a senior police officer, adding the bus driver managed to escape from the spot.

Police have seized bus and launched a manhunt for the driver, he said adding a case has been registered at Indirapuram police station against the bus driver.
