The wholesale sugar trader Ashok Kumar was preparing to go to the bank along with his son Nikunj to deposit money yesterday when a youth entered his shop posing as a buyer and began enquiring about the rates, they said.
Later, another miscreant entered the shop and snatched a bag containing the money from the counter.
However, after the father-son duo protested, one of them pointed a sharp-edged weapon at them and fled with the booty in a white luxury car.
A case has been registered in this regard while the further probes are on, they added.
