Police today claimed to have solved the murder attempt on a business man here with the arrest of two "contract" killers from Bihar allegedly engaged by a business rival, police said.

Surajbhan Singh and Vibhuti Kumar Singh have been arrested for firing at Kanhaiyalal, a native of Rajasthan.

"We have arrested two persons while a hunt is on for a few others. Investigation is still in progress," a police official said.

On June 2, Kanhaiyalal was in his office at Koramangala here when four men barged in and one of them fired three rounds from a pistol.

However, the man, in his 50s, escaped with minor injury caused by one of the bullets, police had said.

Kanhaiyalal is said to be a leading trader in corn and maize.

His business rival had allegedly contacted him three months before the incident and warned him to give up baby corn trade.

When Kanhaiyalal did not give in to pressure, the man hired contract killers to eliminate him.

Bengaluru police nabbed two of the accused from Bihar.

A few others involved in the crime are at large, police said.
