Traders seek protection of interest Delhi Rent Control Act

A group of traders today met Union Urban Development Minister Venkaiah Naidu and sought redressal of various issues affecting them.

A 15-member delegation of Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) met Naidu and presented a memorandum on various issues concerning various regulations that were impacting them, said a senior Urban Development Ministry official.

Protection of traders' interest under the proposed Delhi Rent Control Act, allowing additional FAR for redevelopment and amendment to Delhi Master Plan were among the various demands put forward by the CAIT.

The traders' body also submitted the demand for formulation of a rehabilitation policy by DDA, extension of Delhi Special Provisions Act beyond December 2014 and desealing of Sanjay Market, said the official.
 

Naidu directed the senior officials of the Ministry to obtain the comments of concerned agencies like the municipal bodies, DDA and Delhi government by first week of November, 2014 on the issues raised for further consideration.
