and hacked to death by unknown gunmen at Nazirpur bazar in Tehatta of Naida district, the police said today.
"Paritosh Biswas (50) a trader and Kanai Biswas (60) of Tehatta were shot at when they were moving on motorbike last night. They were hacked when they fell on the ground," Superintendent of Police Sabyasachi Raman Mishra said.
Paitosh died on the spot and the other person died in the hospital, the police said.
The police suspect a dispute over land could be behind the attack on the duo, the police said.
Angry locals blocked Krishnagar-Karimpur Road this morning demanding the arrest of the culprits.
