Traders shut shops, demand arrest of professor's killers

Demanding immediate arrest of killers of former panchayat chairman and professor Man Mohan, traders in Dankaur today shut their shops and staged a sit-in.

Traders have threatened to intensify their stir if the killers were not arrested.

Last evening, former local panchayat chairman and degree college professor Man Mohan was shot dead by some unidenfied assailants here.

Agitated over the killing, villagers set afire Dankaur Police Station. Several vehicles were damaged in the blaze.

Traders protest has spread to Bilaspur and Mandi Shyam Nagar markets too.

At Bilaspur, traders burnt car tyres and shut their shops.

SSP Preetinder Singh assured the traders that killers would be arrested soon. DIG K Satyanarayan was camping at Dankaur.
 

Adequate police had been deployed at Dankaur to maintain law and order.
