Anticipating a heavy rush for the immersion of Durga idols in river Yamuna tomorrow, Delhi Police today issued a traffic advisory cautioning people to avoid several roads.
The advisory has cautioned commuters about congestion in and around Red Fort ground, parade ground, Dangal Maidan-old Delhi railway station, on both sides of Wazirabad Sur Ghat, Chhat Pooja ghat IP estate, Eastern side of Yamuna River pushtas and Thokars.
Immersion of idols of Durga are expected to take place tomorrow from 1 pm onwards at Qudessia Ghat/Geeta Ghat, Yamuna River.

Police have also restricted movement of general traffic on Netaji Subhash Marg, Nishad Raj Marg, New Darya Ganj Road, JLN Marg and Turkaman Gate.
"Normal traffic will also be diverted on a number of roads. Yamuna Pusta road towards Jaitpur from Kalindi Kunj will be one way while the traffic from Jaitpur side to Kalindi Kunj will be directed to kachchi colony road Agra canal," said Additional Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Anil Shukla.
On exit from Kalindi Kunj Ghat all empty vehicles will take compulsory left turn on Jaitpur pusta and use kachchi colony road on Agra canal, police said.
All commercial vehicles, including goods vehicles, will be diverted from Sarai Kale Khan on Nizamuddin Bridge and from Wazirabad towards Burari Chowk on Outer Ring Road from 1100 hours onwards.
Vehicles coming from Mukarba crossing on Outer Ring Road will also be diverted towards Madhuban Chowk from 1100 hours to 2200 hours, police said.
No goods vehicles will be permitted to ply on Ring Road between Wazirabad and Nizamuddin bridge from 1100 hours to 2200 hours.
