Traffic on the Jind-Panipat road was today affected for at least six hours as farmers of four villages in the district blocked the route to protest load-shedding in the area.
The farmers dispersed only after they were given assurance by local administrative officials that they will receive at least six hours of continuous electricity supply.
The protesting farmers claimed that they had been receiving power for not more than one and a half hours for the past four days even though they had been promised eight hours of electricity supply.
The farmers claimed that as they were being unable to provide irrigation to their crops, they were getting damaged.
