A traffic police official suffered severe injuries after being allegedly hit by a speeding car in southeast Delhi's Hazrat Nizamuddin area.
The incident was reported around 10.30 pm yesterday, said a police official today.
The injured traffic official - identified as Dalbir Singh, who is an Assistant Sub Inspector posted at Tughlak Road Circle - was rushed to a hospital by his colleagues - two head constables and two constables - who were present with him at the spot.

All of them were deployed for a night checking drive, said the official, adding that Singh suffered multiple fractures in his left leg.
The team saw a Ford Figo car speeding towards the barricade set up at Subramanian Bharti Marg. When they tried to flag down the car, the driver increased the speed and Singh could not move out of his way, he said.
The accused, P Sandeep, who works with a popular web portal, was later found to be allegedly driving in an inebriated state.
A female colleague was also sitting next to him and both were heading towards Kalkaji area, police said.
The accused was arrested immediately and booked under relevant sections of the law. He was taken for a medical examination and tests suggested that he was in an inebriated state, the official added.
