Two traffic constables chased three persons, who had robbed a mobile phone from a man, and caught two of them foiling their robbery attempt in west Delhi's Punjabi Bagh area, police said today.
The policemen caught the two even after one of them sustained injuries when the accused an attack with surgical blade by the assailants, and were rewarded by the Special Commissioner of Police for their exemplary courage and dedication towards duty.
According to police, the two traffic cops Rohtash (head constable) and Girish (constable) were on patrol duty at Punjabi Bagh roundabout at around 10 AM yesterday.

They noticed a man shouting and pointing towards three fleeing men who allegedly robbed his mobile phone.
The duo chased the assailants for about half a kilometre and overpowered the trio, but one of them managed to flee and was still absconding, said police official.
Constable Girish got injured as one of the accused whipped out a surgical blade and attacked them. He was rushed to Agarsen Hospital where he was discharged after medical treatment.
Those arrested were have been identified as Bitto, Trilok while the third who managed to escape as Disco, all resident of Sultanpuri.
Police has recovered a mobile phone and a surgical blade from them, and registered an FIR.
