A number of trains, including the Darjeeling Mail, were today delayed by over two to three hours after a coach of the Rampurhat-Sealdah Ma Tara Express derailed on the way to the car shed at Sealdah station, Eastern Railway officials said.

After the passengers of Ma Tara Express had disembarked at Sealdah, the train was being moved to the car shed when one of its coaches derailed, blocking the 9A and 9B platforms that handle many of the long-distance services.

Nobody was hurt in the derailment, which caused a delay for Darjeeling Mail, Gaur Express, Padatik Express and several other trains scheduled to leave Sealdah after 10 PM, the officials said.

Services will be restored after the derailed coach is removed from the track, they said.
