Train services hit as miscreants removed rail line section

Train services were disrupted today in the Jagadalpur-Kirandul rail section of the Kottavalasa-Kirandul rail line under East Coast Railway as miscreants removed rails.

Four pieces of rails were removed from the track between Dantewara and Kamlur stations of ECoR in Chhatisgarh since early morning and Over Head Electricity (OHE) had also been removed from last midnight, a release from ECoR said.

As train services were hit on the route till noon, ECoR cancelled 1VK/2VK Visakhapatnam-Kirandul-Visakhapatnam passenger from both directions between Jagadalpur and Kirandul. Freight trains were detained enroute at different stations along the line.

Sensing the problem as grave, ECoR officials immediately put their men and machinery into operations and from early morning, hectic repair work was undertaken for early restoration of track, it said.
 

The railway track between Bacheli and Bhanshi has been repaired at 08.10 hours, Kamlur and Dantewara at 08.20 hours and Bhanshi and Kamlur at 10.35 hours this morning and the OHE has been repaired at 11.50 hours today for normalisation of train movement, the ECoR said.
